We have several well known gardens within easy reach of Plas Efenechtyd.

BODNANT GARDEN

One of the most beautiful gardens in the UK, spanning some 80 acres and is situated above the River Conwy on ground sloping towards the west and looking across the valley towards the Snowdonia range.

The garden has two parts. The upper garden around Bodnant Hall consists of the terraced gardens and informal lawns shaded by trees.

The lower portion, known as the "Dell" is formed by the valley of the River Hiraethlyn and contains the Wild garden.

PORTMEIRION

Featured in cult ‘60s TV show The Prisoner Portmeirion is worth a visit for its garden alone.  It’s Italianate architecture, designed by Clough William-Ellis’, and sea views make a wonderful setting. Huge conifers, Wellingtonia and Himalayan Firs from the mid-1800s are still there. and the unusually warm climate means that species like Gunnera manicata (usually found in the Brazilian rainforest) and tender scented Rhododendrons are going wild. Portmeirion is about an hour’s drive fro Efenechtyd.

DIBLEYS NURSERIES

The country’s leading growers of streptocarpus.

This well known nursery specialising in houseplants is just 15mins drive from here.
