Award winning recipe?
A second attempt at gaining world wide recognition for our marmalade! Last year we entered the Dalemain Marmalade Championships (held in Cumbria) and failed to get a Commendation by a measly one point. That was with Dave’s Orange marmalade with Welsh whisky. So this year the secret ingredient is Welsh honey. The resultant marmalade has an interesting flavour, the honey taste being followed by the bitter Seville orange taste. Which is not what I expected. (I expected the orange to come through much more strongly followed by the honey. I wasn’t expecting it to taste of magnolias or mustard.)
Last year’s entry was a rushed job and suffered from a poor set. So I made sure this year’s has set like a good’un. Results will be sent out in early March, so watch this space.
