Przewalski’s Horses
Five minute’s drive and a short walk brings you to an enclosure in Clocaenog forest where you can see three of the rare Przewalski’s horses.
The area was once a Neolithic/Iron Age settlement and is designated a Scheduled Ancient Monument by the conservation body Cadw. The horses help keep down the vegetation as they would have done in Neolithic times. On the way to see the horses you’ll also see ancient stone circles in moss covered clearings in the woods. It’s a magical spot.
You can read more about the horses on the Forestry Commission website
